Sources for such a study of word derivations and meanings will be introduced along with basic cautions and methods which should be employed in the study of our Masonic language.

Central in this course will be the introduction and use of a work prepared by the instructor, Masonically Speaking: The Words We Use...

Emphasis will be placed upon the importance words have in understanding and delivering our ritual. The need and fun of ongoing study will also be stressed.

Students will be encouraged to ask questions and discuss words of particular interest to them while employing the sources provided.

Finally the aim of the experience will be a combination of creating an awareness and a more lively interest in the language we as Masons use and the establishing of a foundation for an ongoing critical study.
